GENERAL FAQ

I love your products! Where is your store?

Thanks for your interest in our shop! We are in the northeast Atlanta, Georgia area and work out of a studio based in a private home. Currently, 4 Paws Pottery does not have a 'brick and mortar' store. We do, however, have an online store on this website , as well as at Etsy store !

We also visit a selection of craft shows in the southeastern United States in Autumn. You can see our show schedule here. (link coming soon)

How can I contact you?

The best way to contact us is through email at Candice.Popp@4PawsPottery.com.

What are your products made of? Do you use molds?

Our products are made of 100% Stoneware clay. We do not use molds; each piece is made by hand! Stoneware is one of the strongest ceramic products currently in use.* Our products are not just beautiful, but are extremely durable, and meant to be used often!

* Please remember: Our products are extremely durable, but they are not indestructible.

Can I use your products in the oven, microwave or dishwasher?

Yes, it is safe to use our pottery in your oven, microwave and/or dishwasher. Our products are not just beautiful, but are extremely durable, and meant to be used, daily!

I have an idea regarding something I'd like you to (re)create. How can we discuss this?

If you want to know if we can create (or recreate) an item you have in mind, send us an email with the details, and any images that show what you have in mind. We will let you know whether or not we can create what you have in mind.

How can I share my feedback with you?

Feel free to share your feedback with us via email, or our Facebook page! We also love to see your pets with our pottery. You can share photos with us on Instagram, Facebook , or Twitter .

Do you create items for all pets?

Our shop specializes in creating ceramic items and keepsakes for pets with four paws! While we do love birds, lizards, exotic fish, horses, and the like, we simply had to draw the line somewhere!

Currently, the animals we make products for are: dogs, cats, and small animals (bunnies, ferrets, guinea pigs, rats, and gerbils.)

I'd like to see your products in person! Do you have a list of craft show appearances?

We love getting to see our fans in person and would love to meet you too! We tend to attend a selection of craft shows in the southeastern United States in the Fall. You can see our schedule here! (link coming soon)

Where are your products made?

We are in the United Stated, the northeastern part of the Atlanta area, in Georgia to be specific.

Who makes your products?

All of our products are made with our paws- I mean hands! Candice, the owner of 4 Paws Pottery, does all of the throwing and striping. Candice has 2 human assistants- Carrie & Selene- who keep the shop running in countless ways. Candice's other 2 assistants are her Pembroke Corgi's Baron & Earl. They provide entertainment, morale boosting, and a sharp reminder to stop working in the studio at 7pm... their dinnertime!

Are your products safe for pets? Are they lead free?

Our products are not just beautiful, but are extremely durable, and meant to be used. All of our products are safe for both pet, and human, use. And, all of our products are lead free!

Yes, our products are safe for both people and pets! All of our products are lead free, and oven/dishwasher/microwave safe!

Can these bowls or plates be used outdoors?

Yes, our products can be used outdoors, with a few precautions. While our bowls and jars are very durable, they are not indestructible. If being used on concrete/cement, it would be wise to put a placemat underneath any of our items.

Additionally, water bowls should not be left outside if temperatures are expected to be near or below freezing. As water freezes, and expands, it might cause the bowl to crack.

Where can I see reviews of your products?

We've got tons of reviews you can peruse about our products! You can view customer reviews here!

We've also had our products reviewed by several bloggers. You can read those reviews here. (link coming soon)

Do you make pottery for people (as in dish ware)?

Our customers often come up with THE most creative projects for us! And yes, we have created a set of tableware, as well as holiday cookie plates in the past (for both cat and human use, respectively, of course.) We'd love to do that again. If you're considering this, just send us an email and let us know what you have in mind!

DONATION REQUESTS FAQ

I am coordinating an event to raise funds for pets. Do you donate your products to fundraisers?

Yes, we do make occasional donations to support pet related causes in the United States! A love of animals is how this this shop got started! We understand that there are countless groups who work tirelessly, and passionately, on animal welfare and animal rescues.

As you might imagine, we do receive a large volume of requests. Sadly, as a small business entity, we cannot respond affirmatively to every request. Here are some suggestions to increase your chances of getting a donation for your cause:
1. Send us an email with your donation request at least 8 weeks ahead of your event.
2. We make donations to registered non profit organizations only; not individuals.
3. While we may occasionally donate a gift certificate, we never donate money.
4. In exchange for a donated item, we'd greatly appreciate it if your group would promote our shop by listing our name, and a link to our website on your event's social media/website page(s), to your members, or to people who attend your event.

If you change your mind while your product is in transit, or after it has arrives, within 5 days of receipt, let us know that you'd like to exchange the product you've purchased. Again, any difference in price, or additional shipping would be billed or refunded, as appropriate.

How do I cancel an order?

We understand that sometimes an order you've placed may need to be cancelled.

If you've ordered an item that is a finished product, or already made, just send us an email within 24 hours of paying for your order! We'll be happy to issue you a full refund and cancel your order.

If the item arrives broken or defective in some way, we'd be happy to issue a full refund, or re-make the item (at no additional expense to you), provided that the following steps are followed. Please do the following:
1. Notify us of the problem within 5 days of receipt.

(Change requests received more than 48 hours after you've paid for your custom piece cannot always be accommodated.)

SHIPPING FAQ

How often do you ship products?

We know you're anxious to get our pottery to your pet. We ship ready made items out within 1-3 business days of purchase.

We ship customized or 'advance order' items out in the timeframe we shared in the listing, or your order details. Since we make all of our items by hand, you will need to allow 2 to 4 weeks for production time. (More time is required for orders placed between November 1 and December 31.)

Can you rush my order?

As much as we want our customers to be happy, we won't compromise our integrity, or the quality and durability of our products. If you're concerned around the turnaround time for an item, please contact us before placing your order.

If you'd like to upgrade your shipping for faster delivery, please send us an email. There may be an additional fee required, but we will gladly do this for you! (Any additional shipping fees will be billed to you.)

However, there are some things we cannot change. For instance, we cannot change the rate at which clay dries, without compromising the structural integrity of the finished product. Much of our production time is spent simply waiting for products to achieve the proper level of dryness. Rushing the drying process is likely to create: cracks, warping, and explosions while the item is firing in the kiln (also known as complete and utter destruction.) This is something we simply cannot rush.

How will I know when my package has shipped?

We know you're anxious to get our pottery to your fur-baby! That's why we send you a shipping notification once we've packed and shipped your order. We'll also send you the tracking number for your order.

How long does it take to ship a custom made item?

We know you're anxious to get our pottery to your pet. We ship customized or 'advance order' items out in the timeframe we shared in your order details. Since we make all of our items by hand, you will need to allow 2 to 4 weeks for production time. (More time is required for orders placed between November 1 and December 31.)

Do you ship internationally?

Yes we do! We use the United States Postal Service for most of our orders (domestic and international.) Unless you tell us otherwise, we will use the least expensive shipping option available. If time is of the essence to you, please let us know that. We'd be delighted to share all of the shipping options, and the respective delivery times.

How are customs/duty fees handled?

Custom and duty fees for internationally shipped items are the responsibility of the customer.

Do you offer express shipping?

Yes, we do offer express shipping! If you're interested in this option, please email us and we'll give you your shipping options and delivery times! Any additional shipping fees will be billed to you.

I would like to order an item that will be a gift for someone. Can you ship it to them on my behalf?

Absolutely! We'd love to be part of  surprising someone you care about with our pottery! When placing your order, use the intended recipient's address as the shipping address. In your order notes, let us know that this item is a gift, and the name(s) of the intended recipient. We'll slip a card in their box explaining that this item was sent to them, by you!

CHANUKAH & CHRISTMAS ORDERING FAQ

When should I order Chanukah, or Christmas, gifts so that they arrive in time?

We love that you want to order an item from our shop for someone in your life! Due to incredibly high demand, we require extra time to make our high quality products. You can click here to see deadlines.

Here are 3 quick tips for you that will save you (and us) some stress:

1. If ordering an item that has already been made, is in stock, and requires no customization, please order 1-2 weeks prior to Christmas, or the start of Chanukah.

2. If ordering an item that is an Advance Order item, currently out of stock, or an item requiring personalization/customization, please heed the holiday ordering deadlines listed here.

3. Remember, we can ship this gift to you, or directly to the recipient, with a note stating that the item was ordered by you, on their behalf. (If you'd like us to include a note for your recipient, please state that in your order notes.)

The earlier you order, the better!

I need a gift FAST!

There may be an additional fee required, but we will gladly upgrade your shipping for you!

We have a very wide selection of stamps for clients to choose from. Since we focus on pets with four paws, we're certain you'll find something perfect for you & your home!

If, however, you cannot find the animal you are looking for, feel free to suggest an animal (or a breed) that you think we should add to our collection. We cannot accommodate all suggestions. When we consider new additions to our stamp collection, we take into account how often an animal/breed is requested. You can view our Stamp Collection here.

****If multiple pets will be using a Long Ear Bowl for water, you may wish to take into account how much the bowl holds, and increase the size of the bowl you order. Alternatively, you may prefer to create a custom order for a bowl with the opening size your prefer, but with a larger capacity!

My dog/cat has a LOT of hair around the face and drips all over the place. Will one of these bowls help stop the dripping?

We've had customers who've had great success using our Long Ear Bowls to help keep the hair around their pet's face clean/dry- especially if the pet has a beard. Some successful stories include: long haired prize winning cats (yes, cats!), long haired Shih Tzus, Maltese, Pomeranians, & Schnauzers.

Before you place your order, feel free to send us a message about your situation. We'll be happy to advise you about which size to order, or whether or not we believe this bowl will help you!

Dogs who have long ears but a short muzzle (such as a KC Cavalier Spaniel) may have a harder time using our bowls for eating. In this instance, we'd recommend that you use a standard Long Ear Bowl for water, and a Long Ear Food Bowl for feeding.

Our Long Ear Food Bowls are perfect when your pet has long ears, but has a short snout. The special design of our Long Ear Food Bowls is perfect for keeping long ears clean and dry when eating, while allowing your pet to reach, and eat their food.

I am uncertain which size I should order. Can you advise me?

We'd advise that you start by measuring how much food or water your pet drinks. Then, compare that to the volume capacities of our bowls. When trying to decide on a water bowl, also consider how often you might have to refill the bowl and whether, or not you can do that.

Some customers like to increase the size of their pet's water bowl if they spend time in an arid environment, of the bowl is to be shared between multiple pets!

Special Note For Cat Owners: If you have a cat, try to measure the span on their whiskers, from end to end. Cats have sensitive whiskers and (generally) don't like their whiskers to touch the sides of bowls while eating or drinking. Take this measurement into account when deciding on the purr-fect size bowl for your cat!
